Fieldmap

Fieldmap
In order to expand more on my fieldsite, I created a fieldmap. This map includes a sketch of what the cafe looks like along with various questions and statements that ran through my mind as I went through each part of the cafe. By creating this fieldmap, I can study further into student socialization and activity in the cafe by trying to understand each of the different areas, trying to answer some of my questions, and incorporating my ideas.

  1. I absolutely love your map. I especially like how you write your information and question on top of the map of the cafe. The map really helps people who have never been to the site understand the layout and the bright colors add your bubbly personalty to the information that you get out of the set up of the cafe. I wish there had been a little more concrete facts but I love how interested you are in the space around you. Your abundance of questions shows that you are not afraid to explore and learn more about the cafe. I feel like the questions you have hare inexhaustible and that you will have so much to write in your paper. I also like your organization. I feel like this will be especially important in your paper because it can be very easy to get the reader lost in the cafe while they read your paper because of its complicated set up. By staying organized like this and blending the visual of the atmosphere with what is going on around you (and in your head) you will achieve the understanding of social activities that you desire and will allow the reader to feel like they are participating in life at the cafe.

  2. Very through map and it is really an accurate depiction of the cafe. I also like how you put questions on it. It seems like you have a lot of good questions to explore during your research! :)

  3. I think you really grabbed the concept of mind "MAP". You mapped out the area of the cafe really well.
